Don't forget to add a bottle of water and a 100 yen coin (Animal's snack), so you can exchange money at the biopark main entrance souvenir shop.
Although there is also a description on the website, it is possible to bring home-made lunch boxes and water bottles. Commercial food and plastic bottles are not allowed. (As a rule, trash for food and drink brought in) There is no luggage check at the entrance.
It may be impossible if it is stormy, but basically you should be able to see it anywhere. There are corners closed occasionally by animal quarantine, so if you are concerned, it may be nice to ask inquiries.
The facility itself is designed to minimize the loss of nature. It also raises animals in an environment close to nature. Not only that, it is a wonderful facility designed to touch children and the elderly.
12: 00 ~ 15: 00 on 26th November to the end of February http://www.biopark.co.jp/activity/rotenburo/
I thought it was 1700 yen. Well, I think that it is better to check on the web from time to time as admission fees change at any time
There are 200 kinds of animals and 2,000 points, and 1,000 kinds of plants and 30,000 points.
The animals here are wonderful. They have their own spaces to freely roam around in, and near some animal places there are feeds that you can pay a small amount for (around 200 yen) that you can interact with the animals. The staff are friendly and wonderful. The park is a bit far from town, but if you have a car be sure to visit this lovely zoo. The guided paths in the park is very lovely to walk around and take in the scenic views of the animals.
I like it the most in the zoo I've been to.Although there are few big animals, there are many animals that can be touched, and the exhibition method is wonderful.
Since children love animals, I went to various zoos all over the country, but I think there is no other zoo that can do "contact" and "feeding" so far. In addition to being able to simply interact with each other, the humorous hand-drawn animal explanations and the idea of why we value "contact" are also shown, and I think that the management by the great efforts of the breeders and staff is wonderful.
It was so cool, it seemed like I was exploring the jungle. When you touch an animal for 500 yen at the entrance, you can put it in here, but there were cats, rabbits, dogs, momonga, little monkeys, snakes and so on, the quality was enough to be satisfied at the entrance. Rare birds are scattered here and there, and there is a fennec. The animals that were in the early stages came out in the second half, but I saw the giraffe running at full power no matter how infinitely touched the kangaroos. It was good to come here, there is no fault, it is star 5, please go by all means
A highly unique zoo where you can feed and touch the majority of the animals. The animals most receptive to interactions are capybaras, squirrel monkeys, and kangaroos. Indeed, the capybaras are the Biopark's mascot, but the squirrel monkeys are the real star of this zoo: highly energetic, adorable, and eager to be fed.Bring lots of ¥100 coins. You will need them to buy food for the animals from the Gacha-Gacha machines around the park.Normal tickets are ¥1700 per adult. You can pay extra to visit an extra section with cats and dogs, but I would not recommend it, because those animals seem miserable from over-stimulation.
Simply amazing. Highly recommend to get there early and take your time. You can interact (feed, get close to, get a greater sense of) with most creatures. I threw cabage into the mouth of a waiting hippopotamus (I think he trained me!), spent great time the lemurs (we were besties by the end), fed kangaroos and capybaras (look them up if not familiar) to name a few highlights. My description is only the tip of the iceberg of the experience. Bring lots of change for food for the creatures - it is the best value you will ever get for 100 yen.I wish all "zoos" could be this great. It is so much more than a zoo.
It seemed that animals were lively in an environment full of nature.Unlike the zoo seen through the glass, children are excited! ! It is also attractive to feed. It was a vegetable stick, an insect, a solid food, and I could feel that the food I eat was different depending on the animals. There were a lot of rare animals and I really enjoyed it.The picture is a parrot, but the child was crazy about looking for a parrot because he was in a nearby spot and a tree.I think the environment is very important, but there are many staircases and steep slopes, and it is a little difficult for older people and young children. (Because the range is wide ...) Since it was after the rain and the ground was slippery, I was very scared, so I thought that there should be a handrail.
Animals are not in cage, they look so happy !
Much better than the usual zoo experience! In this park you are allowed to touch or feed most animals at your own risk, instead of most zoos where they are totally separate just for staring.Basically the park puts trust in you to be careful around their animals and allows you to have a much more interesting experience. We loved it
The staff was amazing, the animals were laid back... Amazing place.
amazing Zoo
Great place especially if you have a child.
Capybara is to look at the 😊Admission costs 1700 yen, the park is also quite large.0 distance love it here in contact with animals can be fed into the fence and touch the animals. Visitors are not many, can dominate the animal 😂
A great place to hike and get close to animals, especially if you like capybara!
The only zoo I have come across in Japan which can hold a candle to Western zoos. The animals have room to move and have personalities. There are chances to interact and feed the animals, bring lots of 100Y coins. I am not sure how the zoo regulates the food the animals get as they seem to get most of their food from visitors, and Japanese people often feed inappropriate food. Love the capybaras and their special onsen and wood fired stove in winter!
It was great! My wife absolutely loved the capybaras! Alot of the animals here seem happy, but others looked miserable at times. I would definitely recommend this to family's that love the petting zoo experience. They offer a free bus from Huis ten Bosh for those without a car!
A very fun and interactive park! Suitable for all ages. Don't miss the feeding times and the PAWs petting zoo.
Lots of loveable animals. Beautiful stroll through the animal park! Feeding them is the best part.
A lot lovely animals around. You can get touch with them. Recommend to go if you are around.
Such a fun place to interact with animals You can even feed them.Year passes are worth it!
Excellent. Bring at least 10 ¥100 coins to feed animals.
Super fun place. Great for kids, but be ready for a lot of walking!
So fun!
If you are sure to go, it is better to buy advance tickets at a convenience store. In addition to being cheaper, there will be a gift certificate that can be used in the park for 500 yen per person. I used it at the souvenir shop at the exit. You can also buy cake ^ _ ^I'm fine with the raccoon at the place of feeding ^ _ ^
Great place! Little pricey at ¥2000 for the zoo and petting zoo- but OH SO WORTH IT. We can on a typhooning day and the animals were still out and we were able to see most animals. There's tons of fun ways to feed the animals- we spent around ¥1000 on food for animals from the Gatcha machines stationed around. The squirrel monkeys were intense and pooped on us and stole things from our pockets- so be warned. Overall we easily spent 5 hours there, but you could walk the park no problem in 2-3 hours. Not big, but plenty to see. Delicious snacks, cook insect room, capybaras were adorable, and the petting zoo was clean and nice. Dogs, cats, rabbits, parrots, owls, Guinnea pigs, chinchilla, degu, mice, so nice! Great for kids, plenty to see and do. Lots of chairs everything for the elderly, though not the friendliest terrain. There was at least one nursing room, and stroller parking was available where needed. Great park. Children were only ¥1100 I think.
Fun and a lot of animals to see, peaceful scenery
I would come here almost every weekend and show visitors this place! The whole zoo is pretty much a petting zoo.
Very different from the states animals never seemed to me before awesome experience watch out for the Monkees
It was fun, especially if you have children
Super fun zoo, it can be said that most herbivores have no cages, can move freely, large animals can also be in close contact, watching them hold their big eyes and look at us, feel super cute
The Heaven of kids
Lovely zoo - well worth a visit.
It was a very happy time to interact with creatures ♪
The place worths a visit at just one area. The part of the big animal cages is okay, some are better living there than others, who look trapped into a tiny place , not good , and I hope that one day those animals get released to the nature, where they should live . The bad side is the little animls paw petting zone, where the guinnea pigs, rabbits and mouses are totally stressed there, some look sick, infected, and stuck at a display place where whey look like they could die in a minute of too much stress and mishandle . The animals are often being abused by kids, squeezed, touched, thrown from high altitudes like a toy and no one cares. I hope that one day, someone could save those animals from that, they will die if they live on that hell.
Truly the best zoo in the world, in my opinion. The capybaras are fabulous and have amazing personalities; I could hang out with them all day. Taking the Haus Ten Bosch train+shuttle from Fukuoka works well, and taking the city bus from Nagasaki central train station works just fine too (takes a while but it's direct and scenic).
You can feed various animalsYou can interact with various animals around you!Marla first met and asked for foodThere was a hole in the knit I was wearingLolI forgave you because it is cute, but lolYou can touch at such a short distance!Maybe it was Saturday when I visited the parkPAW was crowded with many people. Also, from the cashier staff when entering PAWI heard the precautionsOne of them is not to make a loud voice.Despite being told, three girls in their early 20sLoud enough to look around the roaring parrot and turn aroundKee-kya-a-ya was making a noise.I understand that a parrot is rare,While there are many children and small children keep their promises,I wonder if adults are so noisy and not ashamedI felt a little disappointing.Whether the staff knows or does not knowI didn't pay attention to anythingBecause we are dealing with creatures. For those who look around andI thought it was better to be careful.Other than that, I enjoyed it enough
Can interact with animals. We can feed and enjoy it with a family atmosphere. It ’s not so crowded, so it ’s very good.
The capybara is really cute. There are animals in the park, all of which can be fed, and the park has a large space. It is recommended to bring children to have fun.
It's a bit of a trek to get to but if you're after getting up close and feeding some zoo animals this is a fun place to do so. The capybaras are clearly the stars of the place though!
Well organized zoo. We had very good time here. Too many lovely animals.
Greatest. Animals and staff who can not taste at other zoos enjoyed the best!
I can’t recommend this place enough! Compared to many other zoos in Japan, these animals seem well cared for and well loved. They have space to roam and are free to wander in some cases. As other reviews have mentioned, it’s a good idea to bring ¥100 coins to feed the animals. It’s a great way to get up close. This is the perfect place for kids or for animal lovers.
This was the best zoo we’ve ever been to. No western zoo can hold a candle to Nagasaki Biopark. The PAW area was especially wonderful because many of the animals appeared to be rescued. We spent a lot of time with the capybara and I want to become one. Be sure to come every season for Guinea Pig Bridge so you can see it every time!
Rare animal for the region only. Worth visiting. Can book free shuttle bus in advance from huis ten bosch to biopark.
A wonderful place if u loves animals ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
Animals are more familiar than ordinary zoos, and there are various ways to entertain customers. As soon as we entered the park, we were able to feed monkeys with pachinko, but it was very difficult. LolPersonally, the capybara hot spring was so cute and healed. There are quite a few ups and downs, but there are animals in some places, so I think it's okay if you take a break while watching the animals. It is a recommended place to enjoy from small children to adults (^ ^)
My husband and I took our 8 and 10 year old boys. Not only did the boys have a blast, so did my husband and I. This is one of the few places during our stay in Japan that my 10 year old was NOT constantly saying "I'm bored." He loved it! Be aware that there are 20 different kinds of animals you can actually feed, and each different kind of food costs ¥100 so take a lot of extra ¥100 coins.
Unforgettable experienceMany cute looksPeople can get close contactReassuring facilitiesa place where children and adults are happy
Well organized park, adorable animals. A must-go checkpoint for family . However it is far away from the town, better to drive there instead of taking a 3hrs bus
